As a former technology journalist and “alumni” of several leading Silicon Valley high-tech firms, I still love keeping up with technology trends and discovering the latest cool gadgets. But for the busy virtual entrepreneur, technology also needs to be functional. Here’s a list of my seven favorite technology tools and why I love them.
1. ASUS 10-Inch Netbook Netbooks are great for frequent travelers (most weighing only a few pounds), and their low cost make them a good second computer. This netbook offers a larger, 10-inch screen as well as 160 GB storage capacity, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g access, and up to seven hours of battery life. Remember, though, that netbooks don’t have the memory of a traditional computer (this one has 1 GB), so they’re best suited to web-based applications.
2. BlackBerry Bold 9000 Phone The BlackBerry Bold is a great option if you’re looking to upgrade to a more sophisticated, feature-filled phone. There are a lot of features to love about this phone:
- the enhanced screen
- GPS capabilities with BlackBerry maps
- quad-band GSM for international travelers
- music and video
- Bluetooth capability
